PROJECTS ~ Stonewurx Contracted by Ground Effects Landscapes to co-ordinate a one-time only dry stone walling festival seeing the build of a rare and unique dry stone stable on site to be enjoyed by many hundred's of years to come. The successful completion of this project saw some of the world's best Master Craftsmen, over 60 registered students, 100 college and high school students, 20 vendors, 30 partners, and more than 2,500 spectators come together to learn and celebrate this ancient craft. What was once the owner's dream, became a reality over a beautiful fall weekend with certified student courses, artisan vendors venue, full children's program, aroudn the clock entertainment tent, Ribfest & dance, and all concluding with a Raise-the-Roof celebration! Being a one-of-a-kind event, all aspects of the festival were created as the project grew at a very fast and furious pace. Some of the activities to pull this Festival together included: creating public awareness through radio, newspaper, internet, community groups and general marketing pieces; marketing and recruitment of students, vendors, volunteers and the public; prepare and facilitate partnership opportunity programs & meetings; create and co-ordainte festival swag; plan and co-ordiante weekend long entertainment and children's program; work with the festival committee, and report to owner; act as spokesperson, and co-ordiante all aspects of the festival leading up to and during the event. The event was deemed a huge success, "The most amazing side-effect of the whole event is the realization of how a dream can unite a community."
